For Patients with Cataracts

If cataracts are making your vision cloudy, dull or harder to use at night, surgery does more than restore clarity. Choosing an advanced trifocal lens at the same time can also reduce how often you reach for glasses for reading, screens, and distance.

If you have started holding menus at arm's length, or you have worn glasses or contact lenses for years, laser vision correction may offer a long-term alternative without waiting for cataracts to develop.

What a great experience! Very reassuring and I am very grateful for the consultation from Dr Musa he was so helpful in helping me make a decision to proceed to having eye correction surgery. I have the upmost confidence in him and the team at the Eye Doctor Clinic, Huddersfield.
Lozza 747I had implants with Dr Musa ten years ago. It was the best thing I've ever done. They are brilliant. My sight both near and distant was very poor but since the op I've had no glasses no lenses and my sight has been super. It remains really good to this day. Thank you Dr Musa. Brilliant consultations and treatment for glaucoma since.
Kay FitbitI can highly recommend the Eye Doctor Clinic, and I am so pleased I went there. Dr Musa, Gemma and Jess are lovely. They are very knowledgeable and were able to answer all my questions. My vision following surgery is great, and not having to wear glasses is fantastic.

Frequently Asked Questions
The eye is numbed with anaesthetic drops, so the procedure itself is not usually painful. Most patients describe a sensation of mild pressure or an awareness of light rather than discomfort. The surgery typically takes around fifteen minutes per eye, and you go home the same day. Some grittiness for a few days afterwards is normal.
That depends on the lens you choose. A monofocal lens gives clear vision at one distance, so reading glasses are usually still needed. Advanced trifocal lenses are designed to provide vision at near, intermediate and distance, and many patients find they use glasses far less than before. No lens can guarantee complete freedom from glasses, and your consultant will explain what is realistic for your eyes.
Most patients notice clearer vision within a few days, although it can take several weeks for vision to settle fully. You will use prescribed eye drops for a few weeks and attend a follow-up appointment. Your consultant will advise on when it is safe to drive, exercise and swim.
Yes. Where both eyes need treatment, they are usually treated on separate occasions rather than on the same day. This allows the first eye to settle and be checked before the second is treated.
