Mrs Indira Madgula is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Glaucoma Specialist with an exceptional record in transforming glaucoma services, medical education, and international examining.
She was the Glaucoma Lead at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2017 to 2025, where she pioneered a nationally recognised shared care glaucoma service that received a prestigious HSJ Award nomination. She was also the first trainee in the UK to be selected as an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Mrs Madgula is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at both the University of Manchester and Edge Hill University, and an active international examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow. She brings exceptional clinical expertise and a deeply patient-centred approach to every consultation.
Mrs Farhat Butt

Mrs Farhat Butt is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Medical Retina, Uveitis, and high-volume Cataract Surgery. Having completed both her medical and ophthalmic training in Yorkshire, she has built her career in the region with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality eye care for local communities.
She manages a wide range of retinal and inflammatory eye conditions and has a particular interest in cataract surgery, YAG laser treatment, intravitreal injections, and specialist care for complex uveitis. She is also an Examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and an active teacher and mentor to optometrists, nurses, medical students, and trainee doctors.
Mrs Butt combines a calm, compassionate approach with a strong commitment to patient safety and excellent surgical outcomes, ensuring every patient feels informed and supported throughout their care.
